Subject: Re: Ibogaine containing plants

I was wandering round some old files earlier, and came
across some scribbles from when i tried some Voacanga
Africana extract (from ..otj) a few years back.

At the time i knew nothing of Ibogaine; the Voacanga was
really just something new to try and i had no idea at all
what kind of effects to expect.

I took the extract i think on three separate occasions, at
low doses, and found it mild, but very interesting. I recall
being struck by the way it seemed to 'home in' on 'unresolved
issues' (see below).

Hope it's of interest, apologies if not,
here are the notes:

--

-initially it gave me a smooth stimulant lift; expansive,
plenty energy, positive, felt motivated to do stuff, but not
'driven' like speed; found myself enjoying moving about,
dancing or even hoovering the carpet, also felt very
sociable, enjoyed pub with friends, telephoning to catch
up with absent friends & family etc.

-don't remember exactly, but i think the initial lift
lasts a couple of hours, to be replaced with a strong
urge to close the eyes and lie down.. i entered a kind
of waking dreamstate, a little like opiate 'nods', but
different in that it seemed to work with purpose, with
a subtle but definite 'healing character'; eyes closed,
dream-like sequences unfolded, each one related to some
aspect of past experience that hadn't been fully worked
through and resolved; simply allowing these sequences to
unfold freely was all that was required to put the matter
to rest and move on..
